Two installers who went out on their own in 2018, and a team that has grown around them ever since. Here is who we are, how we work, and why that matters when someone is fitting windows into your home.

Two installers who wanted to do it properly.
Fortis Windows company directors Shaun Kay and John Wrigley first joined forces in September 2016, working together as a window installation team for a local firm.
From the first day they worked together they knew they both had a great work ethic and an eye for detail, sharing the same view that if a job is worth doing it's worth doing right.
They soon realised their passion was leading them on the same journey, and in September 2018 Fortis Windows was born. Since then they have worked tirelessly to make the right connections with the best quality local suppliers and manufacturers, coupled with an ever-growing reliable and knowledgeable workforce.

Our team is highly skilled, knowledgeable and qualified to install, replace and repair uPVC and aluminium windows and doors.
We are FENSA registered. FENSA is a scheme authorised by the Government to ensure window and door installations meet British building regulations. Energy-efficient products must be used and a local council registration is compulsory.
Windows and doors installed by a FENSA registered company come with a certificate of proof, which is also valuable when selling your house. Make sure your window and door company is FENSA registered — it's a mark of quality workmanship completed to high standards.

Our team is highly skilled, knowledgeable and qualified to install, replace and repair uPVC and aluminium windows and doors. Between the directors and our installers there is well over a century of hands-on experience in the trade. Every opening is hand measured rather than worked out from rough sizes, and every installation follows the same six steps, so you know exactly what is happening in your home and when.
10 Year Guarantee
At Fortis we work closely with our trusted manufacturing partners who provide us with quality products. All our doors and windows come with an extensive, easily transferable 10 year guarantee. Transferable is the part that matters: if you sell the house, the guarantee goes with it, alongside the FENSA certificate you receive on completion.
A-Rated Windows
Looking to save money and cut down those heating bills? We know the feeling. Our A-rated windows will help, and they come recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. Market-leading energy efficiency and security come as standard across the range, from casement and bay windows through to sliding sash and tilt and turn.

Every Fortis installation follows the same six steps, so you know exactly what is happening in your home and when.
- InspectionUpon arrival to your home it's important that we check all items are manufactured to the correct standards and specifications.
- RespectOur trusted installers will put down sheeting in all work areas to protect your home from debris.
- RemovalTaking care when removing old window and door frames is an essential part of an excellent installation, ensuring minimal damage to decorating and plaster work.
- InstallationEnsuring all new products are installed level is paramount, and we will also check locks are operating correctly and safety glass is installed in the right places.
- Clean upAll of our installers will make sure the work area is left clean and tidy, so all that's left for you to do is admire your stunning new windows and doors.
- HandoverA full demonstration of how your new windows and doors operate, plus one of our aftercare kits to keep them looking brand new for years to come.

Shaun Kay
DirectorShaun has been in the window installation industry for over 18 years. As a director of Fortis Windows his duties include managing the accounts, meeting suppliers and overseeing installations. Shaun is a family man and enjoys running, football, swimming and fishing overseas. He has completed running races raising money for different charities, and over the last few years has been renovating properties in his spare time.
John Wrigley
DirectorJohn's main roles as a director are meeting customers in their homes to discuss their requirements and placing orders with our trusted manufacturers. He has worked within the home improvement industry for over 21 years and has a vast knowledge of high quality installations. John is an avid runner — he once ran a 43 mile ultra marathon, coming 9th overall.
Pam
Office AdministratorPam is our office administrator. She has over 25 years of customer service experience in the construction industry, and has worked in the window and door sector for over 5 years. In her spare time Pam enjoys taking her dog on long walks, yoga and going to the gym.
Dave Ramwell
InstallerQualified window and door installer with over 30 years in the business. Dave has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to window installation and repairs, and worked with both Shaun and John previously before deciding to join the Fortis team. His attention to detail makes him a valued member of our team. Dave is a keen mountain biker and has completed “Tough Mudder” four times.
Stephen
InstallerWith over 26 years of experience fitting windows and doors, Stephen brings plenty of skill and care to every job. Outside of work he's a family man who enjoys holidays, football, darts and rugby. He's a proud season ticket holder at Salford Red Devils and loves a good catch-up with friends when he's not on site.
Danny
InstallerDanny has over 20 years of experience in the window and door industry. Outside of work he enjoys camping, fishing, and supporting Salford Red Devils as a proud season ticket holder. Recently he's also taken up playing rugby league for the over 35s, staying active both on and off the field.
Charlie Teal
InstallerCharlie has recently completed his apprenticeship with us and is now a fully qualified installer, progressing through hands-on training alongside our experienced team. He joined us straight from school and has brought plenty of energy to the role. Outside of work Charlie enjoys mountain biking and has tackled serious climbs across England and Europe, and has played football for local teams since the age of 6.

We have completed the ‘Everest Challenge’ to raise money for local charities including The Sunnywood Project youth programme, and we continue to support them by making a donation for each Google review we receive.
